"Building Better Golf - One Club at a Time"
How does the average golfer benefit from being custom fit?

One of the most common misconceptions or myths the average to high handicap golfer believes is that they will not benefit being professionally fit. The main reason they believe this, is because they feel they are not consistent enough in their swing.

Here is an absolute fact:

The less skilled the golfer, the more they need to be accurately fit to play to the best of their ability. Your swing is more consistent than your realize, this is proven through swing testing, but if your equipment is wrong for you, you cannot depend on it for consistent shot making. Standard made, "off the rack" golf clubs are built to specs that make it more difficult for you to become consistent.

The better players or lower handicap golfers usually achieve their playing ability for two reasons. One, they have been taught the proper swing fundamentals and have put in the time to practice and ingrain those swing skills. Two, they are usually good athletes who have good hand-eye coordination and solid control over their body motions. These golfers have the ability to play well with a wide variety of equipment with different specifications. In the process of becoming a good player, they have developed an acute sense of feel and ball flight perception, with the additional of professional fitting to ensure greater accuracy and consistency.

So, for the average to high handicap golfer, who has not highly developed the hand-eye coordination skill or the athletic control over their body motions, professional custom fitting only makes sense. The correct clubs and set make-up will enhance their enjoyment of the game because now the clubs perform to the swing characteristics they do have. If they are playing with clubs that are too long, have incorrect lie angles, too little loft, swingweights and total weights that are not matched to their swing tempo and rhythm, or many other fitting parameters, it is more difficult to play to the best of their ability. Thus, causing frustration and losing interest in the game.

Accurate custom fitting can help overcome and offset any of their inherent swing faults and they can still enjoy the game. The ultimate goal for those who are not competing, or do have the inclination or the time to take lessons or practice, and just want to enjoy their game of golf. Proper professional custom fitting will make a difference in all skill levels of golfers.
